March 24 – 29
Woah, it’s been over a year since I wrote anything for this blog and aka traveled anywhere super exciting. I guess that’s what happens when you study abroad for a semester and spend all your money.
Coming to you a few months late (oops) is a sweet little spring break trip! A few of my friends and I decided to go Puerto Rico. After the horrible hurricanes they experienced this past year it was relatively inexpensive to go. Although in March the island was still recovering, San Juan seemed to be in great condition. We barely noticed the storm’s impact other than shops running on generators and not being able to make ice for iced coffee. San Juan had so much charm and the people were so friendly and welcoming. Thanks to PR for helping me escape the gloom and doom of Wisconsin in March.
The whole trip was so relaxing and was a nice break from school. We stayed in an amazing little AirBnb and the hosts left us a hand-drawn map of the area we stayed in. We definitely spent a lot of time with our toes in the sand but also got to explore Old San Juan and eat and drink at a lot of great restaurants. I would have loved to explore the national park and kayak to see some bioluminescent bays but I’ll save that for the return trip.
I’ve never met a more photogenic place – Enjoy!
